In the fictional universe of Star Trek, Starfleet Academy is where a first members of Starfleet learn the skills required for their jobs. A Academy was created in a season 2161, whilst the United Federation of Planets was founded. A Academy's catchword is "Ex astris, scientia" - "from the stars, knowledge". This occurs as paraphrasis of the Apollo 13 motto "Ex luna scientia," - "From the moon, knowledge." Successively, a Apollo Long dozen shibboleth was the paraphrasis of "Ex scientia tridens," a shibboleth of the United States Naval Academy, meaning "From knowledge, seapower."
A independent campus of the Academy is located touching Starfleet headquarters on Earth, in San Francisco, California, although there are other campuses. Lieutenant Tom Paris studied at a campus around Marseilles, France.
